I have received word via multiple emails and personal phone calls that NC GOP Chairman Robin Hayes and NC Vice-Chair Wayne King have rounded up the North Carolina delegation and put pressure on them to essentially give away North Carolina's authority on the delegate selection process to the RNC. There are Minority Reports in the works in Tampa, initially supported by National Committee-Woman Ada Fisher and even Speaker of the House Thom Tillis. Somehow, however, in the midst of the shuffle, orders came from on high, and some backbones were lost (some have never been there to begin with...) and the tar that we North Carolinians used to be famous for has gotten lost in the slime of "go along to get along" politics. Our neighbors to the North, Virginia, as well as to the South, South Carolina, both support the Minority Reports with their delegations. But, as usual, under the "leadership" of Hayes and King, North Carolina finds herself cowering in fear of the mighty mighty RNC. Will the delegates stand for the state who sent them to Tampa? Or will they forever be remembered for betraying the trust of every North Carolina Republican and cow-tow to the fickle cowards at the top of the RNC? The next 24 hours will tell the truth about Robin Hayes and Wayne King. Will the RNC find true Tarheels on Tuesday? Or traitors to their state's trust?
